Hazel C. Almon passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020.
She was born in Buncombe County to the late Claude and Connie Lee Williams Coffey and was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold B. Almon and by a grandson, Kenny Rowden.
Her family includes a daughter Joyce Rowden (Joe), a granddaughter, Missy Lindsey, and a grandson, William Lindsey.
In honor of Hazel C. Almon’s request, no formal services will be held.
Her hope was that her friends and loved ones would join together to remember her in their own personal ways. Remember the love and the laughter and keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She will be missed, especially her wonderfully sweet smile.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Eblen Foundation, 50 Westgate Parkway, Asheville, NC 28806.

  1. so sorry to hear of Hazel’s passing she was a very sweet and precious lady. we were in red hats together and she was a hoot, never a dull moment. I will miss her smile and laugh. I was truly honored to know her. Love and prayers for the family.

    Mrs. Hazel was the kind of Senior Citizen older lady all women DREAM of being. Loved the stories she shared about her and her late husband, how he supported her , made her feel beautiful when she went thru breast cancer. She was such a hoot nanny !!! Funny, zany- A Class Act ALL THE WAY !! Im better for having known her. Ms.Hazel I know youre reunited with those who went before you. May God walk with the family in the difficult days ahead.   9. Hazel was a dear soul! When I was a little girl, in 1954, she & family lived across the street from us. When my dad got sick & went to Duke Hospital, Hazel arranged for a hospital bed, nurses, & neighbors to help out when we got home. I will never forget her!

  10. Hazel was a special lady who refused to get old. Her HATS she wore beautifully and her upbeat attitude inspired many. Sympathy and God’s blessing to all her family members.
