Asheville Butterfly TrailEstella Duquette Wells, 92, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020, at Aston Park HCC.
Born in San Antonio, TX, she was married to the late William Ralph Thomas, the late Clarence Otis Lunsford, and the late Wayne E. Wells. She was also preceded in death by a son, Clifford Thomas.
She is survived by daughters, Grace Meyerhoffer, Dorothy Clement and Ruby Green, and sons, William R. Thomas and Fred Edward Thomas.
Private graveside services will be at Bee Tree Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Estella was very special to me and my family. She was married to Wayne’s nephew (Joe Wells). We’re so glad to have her as part of our family. May God give her family peace and comfort at this time!
Starnes Cove Baptist Church, and the community, has lost a very neat lady, that loved her late husband, Wayne, her church, and church family. She will be missed by many that knew her. Her contagious laugh, and energy was always a huge part of her greetings, as she entered the church on Sunday Mornings. As her Deacon, I am so thankful that Shirley and I were able to visit with her, before the virus hit. Even then, she was still her ‘ole self, and laughing, but was anxious to get out of the facility, and be able to go back to her home. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to do that. Our prayers and condolences go out to the family.
Love you granny. I have such great memories of us and will always remember your delicious biscuits.
Estella was part of our Jack Young Greenhouses family for many years, she loved growing plants and flowers especially and was an excellent employee and a sweet and loving friend. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Our sympathy to her family. Jack and Kay

I have always loved Estella and her family: Fred, Ruby. Gracie, Dorothy, Clifford and one more.(I have forgotten his name). I will always remember her laugh and smile. I used to see her a lot at my Uncle Nath’s house when she came to visit theme. May God give you solace during this sad time. ( I am Jack & Neal Smith’s daughter.)
