George James Huntsinger, 78, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020.
A native of Buncombe County, George was a son of the late Harold and Azalee Hare Huntsinger. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Huntsinger and one brother, Tommy Huntsinger.
George worked for many years as a bus mechanic with the McDowell County School System.
He is survived by three daughters, Debbie Huntsinger Harris (Rick), Karen Huntsinger, Sheila Huntsinger Biddix; one step-daughter, Misty Harrison; ten grandchildren, Ricky, Jimmy, T.J., Antonia, Alicia, Jonathan, Chris, Cassie, Laticia and Marcus; twenty three great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 2, 2020 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery in Marion. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 1 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
