Donna Ann Merrell

Donna Ann (Burleson) Merrell, 70, of Fletcher, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.
Born in Portsmouth, VA, she was the daughter of the late Don C. and Joyce Burleson.
Donna was a member of Hooper’s Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed working with ceramics.
She is survived by a son, John Merrell; 2 sisters: Pat Carter and her husband Roy and Sandy Rhineberger and her husband John; a granddaughter, Amanda Merrell; a great-granddaughter, Hazel Kay; a number of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and her close friend and caregiver, Linda Culler.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, June 10, 2019 at Hooper’s Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Phillip Youngblood officiating. Burial will follow in Hooper’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions in Donna’s memory may be made to Hooper’s Creek Baptist Church. Special thanks to the church family she loved for their prayers and thoughtfulness during her illness.
