Penelope “Penney” Meadows Morgan, of Candler, passed away September 30, 2018 in Alabama. A native of Buncombe Co., Penney was a daughter of Linda Meadows and of the late Jack Meadows. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Allen Elliott. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Morgan is survived by her husband, Drew Morgan; daughter, Reecia Elliott Messer and husband Mark; granddaughter, Abby Messer; sister, Jennifer Warren; family friend, Dan Glover; niece, Monica Buchanan; nephew, Christopher Layell (Nicole); great-nephew, Elliott Bailey; great-niece, Siobhan McCormack; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service for Mrs. Morgan will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Casting for Hope, P.O. Box 8118, Asheville, NC 28814.
