  41. Brother, you know why I could not be there physically, but you know I was with you in spirit. Not sure my phone will ever ring again that I won’t somehow expect it to be you, just checking in. We said it all, most of it many times. I never gave respect to a firefighter – they earned it or they never got it – you my friend earned it from the onset. I will never forget how you gave of yourself to anyone in need through your service in the emergency services and your military life, as well as through your continued community service through your church, your veteran’s work, and in your every day life. Lifting you and all your family and friends up in prayer. Your death will leave a void in many lives that will not easily be filled. Blessed be brother~

  45. Belated condolences to the Corpening family. While searching for the obituary of another person with the same last name, I saw Jeff’s name. I taught Jeff at Haw Creek School, and I remember him as a kind and friendly boy, as well as a delightful student. Hearing that he grew up to be such a fine, upstanding, courageous, and selfless man is not a surprise. I am very sorry to hear of his passing, and will keep your family in my prayers.
