Linda June McMahan LaPak, 71, of Etowah, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018.
A native of Buncombe County, Linda was the daughter of the late Jeter "Tupp" and Betty Cordell McMahan.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Joseph LaPak; two sons, Donald Timothy “Tim” Young (Louisa) of New York City and Anthony W. Young (Anne) of Greensboro, NC; one step-daughter, Jacqueline Lamison; five grandchildren, Ty Cason Young, Virginia Blair Young, Meredith Young, Jacob Lamison and Jade Wurst, as well as two great-grandchildren, Eli Wurst and Ava Wurst.
Linda spent time in both the aerospace and municipal government industries. In her retirement, she enjoyed participating in bible study and meeting friends at the Mills River Life Enrichment Center (MRLEC).
At her request, no service will be held, but please honor her and her family by making a memorial donation to either the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org).

To Joe, Tim and Tony we were so sorry to hear about Linda. Please know we love you all and we are here if you need us. God bless your family and give you peace during this time of sorrow.
Dear Joe and Family. We have not met but I did meet Miss Linda. I go to Blantyre Baptist Church with Betty. It is my mom that Linda goes to see with Betty. I loved Linda anyway because she was a really sweet person, but I loved her even more because she had so much compassion for my mom.
I can only imagine how you miss her. My prayers are for our heavenly Father to wrap His arms around you and give you peace and comfort that only He can give.
