Aunt Bea, 89, of Leicester, went home to be with the Lord and her family on Saturday, February 10, 2018.
A native of Buncombe Co., Beatrice was a daughter of the late Herman and Mary Walker Buckner. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Willie Lee "Bo" Messer and her brother, Coleman Herman Buckner.
Ms. Buckner is survived by several nieces and nephews, in which she had a hand in raising.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Newfound Baptist Church, with Revs. Bobby Smith and Mark Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to cemetery fund at Newfound Baptist Church or to the Leicester Fire Department.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
