Edna Mae Laughter Gosnell, 79, of Asheville, died on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the CarePartners Solace Center. A native of Edneyville, NC, Edna was born November 19, 1938. She was a loving wife and mother. She loved her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren with all her heart. Also, her beloved best friend, Janice Inman, of Clyde, with their countless phone calls and adventures. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, James Carl Gosnell, of Asheville; sons, Steve Critcher, of Scottsdale, AZ, Lawrence Critcher, of Spindale, NC, and Matt Gosnell, of Asheville; her only daughter, Jennifer Gosnell Settle and husband Josh, of Asheville; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Willard and wife Virginia Laughter, of Chesapeake, VA, and Bud and wife Carolyn Laughter, of Edneyville; and sisters, Faye and husband Jim Hill, of Edneyville, and Mable and Bill Sinclair, of Burnsville, NC. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Dorothy Owenby Laughter, of Edneyville; brother, Gene Laughter of TN; and her grandson, Hunter Lane Boheler, of Asheville. Graveside services will be held at New Liberty Baptist Church of Asheville, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pastor Garry Rodgers will officiate. The family would like to thank the John F. Keever Solace Center for all their love, kindness and compassion they showed to their mom. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
