Teresa "Ann" Taylor Purcell, 62, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Mission Hospital. Ann was born in Cullowhee, NC to the late J.M. and Juanita Arledge Taylor. She was a loving mother and “Grammy” who enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids. She was an avid animal lover and also enjoyed her involvement with the Red Hat Society. Ann is survived by her three children; her daughter, Christy Kitson and her husband, Jimmy and their children, Connor and Kelcie of Wake Forest; daughter, Courtney Shaugnessy and her husband, Patrick and their sons, Liam and Oliver of Davidson, NC; son, Matthew Purcell and his wife, Jessica and newborn baby, Jackson of Avery’s Creek; sister, Vicki Bradford and her husband Steve, and their son Jay Bradford; brother, Jerry Taylor and his wife Celia and their children Craig Taylor, Marion Akers, and Kimberly Taylor. She also leaves behind many treasured extended family and friends. The funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road in Arden with Pastor Craig Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the Funeral Home prior to the service. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM at Taylor Cemetery in Cullowhee.
