Arnold Taylor, 95, of Asheville, died Thursday, December 7, 2017.
A native of Buncombe Co., Arnold was a son of the late Melvin and Nancy Caine Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Tipton Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of Western Carolina University and was a teacher at North Buncombe High School. He was also a member of Abernethy United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his sister, Katherine Turbyfill (Bill) of Candler; brother, Harold Taylor (Phyllis) of New Richmond, Ohio; many wonderful nieces and nephews; and Lilah Price who was like a granddaughter to him.
The family would like to thank the three outstanding caregivers who assisted Arnold.
Funeral services for Mr. Taylor will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard in Fletcher.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

I was looking through my photo album and ran across a photo I took of Mr. Taylor (99th Infantry Division Assoc) in the Washington DC Memorial Day parade in 2013, and I wondered how he was doing. Upon searching on the Internet, I discovered his recent passing. I have a lovely photo of him riding in his jeep in the parade, if you’d like a copy. (I am assuming this is the same Arnold Taylor.) Condolences to the family on your loss of a wonderful man.
