  1. My deepest sympathy to Betty, Allison and Andrea, his beautiful sister grandchildren and spouses. Nick was a leader, a mentor, friend and father. He would spend his Saturday’s encouraging me after I lost my husband, despite him not feeling well. Of course he gave me a very specific outline on how to approach work, people and life. We would always set a time to talk- and both of us would call the very minute we promised. He was giving, selfless, kind and confident and exceeded in his business roles of VP. I accompanied him on many corporate account presentations. When he walked down the hall, people knew it – whether they could see him or not. I watched him evolve in the later years- always surprising me. The world will not be as bright without his laughter and humor, but I am confident that he has had a wonderful surprise seeing his brother Tom and your mom again. So grateful he hired me. Love you and I’ll see you on the other side Nicholas P! So blessed he was part of my life. Sending you all my love and my deepest sympathy. Thank you for sharing him with me. Julie Griffin

  2. My condolences to Betty and all of Nick’s family. Wherever he was, he lit up the room. I always saw him with a smile on his face and a positive attitude. What a wonderful man! He will be missed by everyone who knew him, whether just an acquaintance or a loved one.

  3. My deepest sympathy. I really benefited from his OLLI class. Betty. you have indeed been a stalwart friend and you are special, as was Nick.

  4. I enjoyed so much getting to know Nick though my late husband Skip and all the class of 1959 at The Asheville School. They were an energetic, loyal and successful group who remained friends throughout their lives. Their reunions were legend and their support for the school unending. My condolences to Nick’s family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

  5. I met Nick in 1965 at Bitburg AB, Germany. We were in the same squadron for a while. Nick was an outstanding officer and friend. He and I both met and married our wives there. Both were teaching in the dependents schools there. Nick did a lot of things but he was an excellent foosball player. I am saddened by his departure. I look forward to seeing him again. Schlaf in Ruhe mein Freund.
