Edward Eugene "Butch" Lipe, 64, of Asheville, died Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Complete Care of Asheville.
A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of Betty Jean Lipe Jones and of the late Carl Elmore Banks. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Jones.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Lipe is survived by his sons, Scottie Lipe and Edward Lipe, Jr.; sister, Vivian Brown; and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Lipe will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
