Terry James Prestwood, 61, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017, at his home.
Born in Buncombe County, Mr. Prestwood was a son of the late Hurley and Eva Teague Prestwood. He formerly worked with Custom Packaging, Inc., and had served as Plant Superintendent. He enjoyed his garden and especially enjoyed woodworking, having constructed a miniature house and miniature stagecoach. He was also a racing fan, especially following Dale Earhhart.
Surviving are Virginia Robinson; sons, Brandon Prestwood (Julie) and Zach Prestwood; grandson Bradley Prestwood; sister, Linda Nesbit; brother Ronald Prestwood (Mary); special friend, Maxine Cook, nephews, great-niece, cousins and friends..
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Big Sandy United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ricky Townsend and Steve Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Flowers will be accepted and appreciated, or memorials may be made to Big Sandy United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund or to the charity of one's choice.
