Georgena Watts Elliott, 80, of 715 Reed Street, Asheville, died Monday, January 3, 2005, at her home. Mrs. Elliott was born in Candler and was a daughter of the late Thomas R. and Eula Smith Watts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Elliott, and three daughters Linda Lee Elliott, Elaine O’Neal and Joann Laughter. Surviving are three sons, Rev. Robert Elliott and his wife Gail of Candler, Stephen Elliott of Salisbury and Owen Elliott of Lillington; three grandchildren, Michelle Laughter who resided with Mrs. Elliott, Michael Laughter of Leicester and Brenda Brown of Asheville; one great-granddaughter Elizabeth Laughter; and two brothers the Rev. Richard Watts and Hobart Watts, both of Candler. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Community Harvest Church of God with the Revs. Lawrence Owenby and Owen Isaacs officiating. Burial will be at the former Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and at other times will be at the home of Robert Elliott, 78 Ken-Tel Road, Candler. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the family to assist with expenses.
