Gary Crone Scott, 61, of Arden, met his Saviour Jesus on Thursday, July 27, 2017. He was an active member and musician at Bent Creek Baptist Church. He loved his church and the drums the most.
Surviving are his mother, Doris Pressley and his father, Bobby Scott (Ruby); sons Wesley Scott (Melissa) and Shawn Scott (Megan) and step-son, Daniel Wilson. Gary’s pride and joy were his five grandchildren, Caleb Scott, Riley and Madison Austin, Addie Jane and one on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Smith; brother, Bridgett Scott (Tammy); nieces and nephews, Sarah Diamont (Sam) and their daughter, Collins Elizabeth, John Smith and Cody Scott, as well as special friends, Kathy Ledford, Pam Scott and the Pressleys.
Gary was preceded in death by his step-dad, Bob Pressley and brother-in-law, Peter Smith.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, July 31 at Bent Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery and the family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 PM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Bent Creek Baptist Church, 1554 Brevard Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

Sharon and family, was so saddened to hear of Gary’s passing, he was always such a sweet and caring person, of course, I can remember when he was on the little league baseball team that Gus coached, enjoyed the music at the church one Sunday when Gus and I came and sat with your sweet mother, please know we are thinking about you and know that he is now walking hand in hand with our precious Lord.
