Linda Marie (King) Dixon, 58, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in Arden, NC. Born in Indiana, PA, Linda was the daughter of the late J. Fred and Nancy L. King. Linda was a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and spent many years working with TE Connectivity. Later in life, she wanted to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming an educator. She earned her Master's Degree in Early Elementary Education from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. After completion of her Master's, she became a teacher in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System, where she taught Pre-K and Kindergarten for five years, at Lebanon Road Elementary in Mint Hill, NC. Linda's dream of educating children was realized prior to her diagnosis of brain cancer. Linda is survived by her husband, James A. Dixon, III, of Arden, NC; one son, Blake A. Klinefelter (Mary Beth), of Clover, SC; daughter Danielle M. Wright (John), of Shelby, NC; daughter Carolyn L. Klinefelter (Tiffany), of Arden, NC; Eileen R. Klinefelter, of Asheville, NC; stepson Christopher J. Dixon (Ramah), of York, SC; stepdaughter Staci E. Ogburn (Tony), of York, SC.; four grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren. Linda is also survived by sister Karen L. King, of Mechanicsburg, PA; brother John F. King, Esq. (Gail), of Mechanicsburg, PA; sister Gail L. Hoskins (Geffrey), of Bonaire, GA; sister Gretchen L. Klick (Robert "Gonzo"), of Mechanicsburg, PA. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 3, at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Gastonia, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that you consider a contribution in Linda's memory to the Hospitality House of Charlotte. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family with local arrangements.
