James Conner

James Conner, 85, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017, at Mission Hospital. Born in Buncombe Co., Mr. Conner was a son of the late Charles and Jane Conner, and was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank M. Conner, and sisters, Berta L. Storm and Cora Jones. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and was retired from Central Motor Lines, where he worked as a mechanic. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Juliana Patigas Conner, whom he married in 1969 in Cebu City, Phillipines; nephew, Robert Storm and wife Sandy; nieces Marlene Timmons (wife of the late Joe Timmons), and Pamela Storm Iwanyszyn and husband John, all of PA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon Friday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church by the Rev. Fr. Dean Cesa. Burial with military honors will follow at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
