Richard Alfred Anderson

Richard Alfred Anderson, 86, of Candler, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. A native of Hartford, CT, Richard was a son of the late Ernest and Elsie Anderson. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Patricia Pearl Anderson. Mr. Anderson is survived by his daughter, Shirley Barnett and husband, Pastor Edward Barnett; two sons, Richard A. Anderson and wife, Elizabeth, and Pastor Ronald Anderson and wife, Lori; seven grandchildren, Andrew Barnett and wife, Lauren, Ryan Barnett and wife, Kay, Richard Anderson, Jr., and wife, Andrea, Kenneth Anderson and wife, Katie, Rebecca Grissom and husband Andrew, and Erin Anderson and Eric Anderson; and two great-grandchildren. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family in Asheville.
