Cecilia Ann Ray "Cricket" Cook, 57, of Leicester, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017.
A Buncombe Co. native, Cricket was a daughter of the late Marion Lloyd and Mary Elizabeth West Ray.
Mrs. Cook worked as a hair stylist and was affectionately known as "CC" to her clients. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden, baking and cooking, and loved spending time with her close friends. She had been a past member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cook is survived by her son, Charlie Cook; sister, Pat Boone and husband Steve; niece, Crystal Ellzey; nephew, Aaron Ellzey; grandnephews, Alijah Stamey, and Colby Sexton; and many other family members and close friends.
The memorial service for Mrs. Cook will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave with the Rev. Ron Brown officiating.

So sorry to hear of Cecilia’s passing. I went to school with her at West Buncombe and we graduated together from Erwin. I have many memories of her from school when we had classes together. I remember she was always nice and she had that beautiful smile. I know she will be greatly missed.
So sorry your life was shortened, by the accident. Thank you for giving us Charlie. May you rest in peace. I will think of you with good memories.

My sympathy to her family.I knew Cece from Fletcher,Great Clips,Hair Plus ,and Sallys!! She was quite but very friendly,and always smiled! The last time I saw her she showed me a picture of herself!! Gone way too soon but will always be remembered! Rest in peace my friend!!

Cricket was a dear friend to me for many years. We worked together as hairdressers for many years. She loved her family. She always talked dearly of Charlie, always greeted people with that contagious smile. Can’t say enough good things about her. She is always missed
