Patricia L. Wade

Patricia L. "Patty" Wade, 91, of Asheville, passed away at Givens Health Center on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rella and LeMoyne Wade, sisters, Barbara and Roberta, and brother, Robert. She was the loving sister-in-law of Joanne Wade, and aunt of Donna Wallen (Bill), Karen Sams, Robert Wade, Jr., Suzanne Botana (Xavier), David Wade, and Linda Smeltzer (Barry). She was the great-aunt of Jennifer and Joshua Wallen, Karen and Michele Miola-Sams, Taylor Wade, David Botana, and Ryan, Rachel, Nicholas, Carolyn, Logan and Charlie Smeltzer. Patricia was an avid reader with particular interest in the Royal Family of Great Britain and the Biltmore House. She loved hearing updates about her great-nieces and nephews, and seeing their pictures. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. The Rev. Keith Turman will officiate. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. Ms. Wade's family will receive friends for 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.
