Robert Brooks Shuford, 76, of Misty Rose Lane, died Monday, November 22, 2004 in a local hospital.
Mr. Shuford was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Jacob Molt and Avie Allen Shuford. He was also preceded in death by a son, Brooks Shuford and a sister, Gerry Rice.
He is survived by his wife, the former Wilma Williams, two sons, Mike, and his wife, Marsha, of Belmont, NC, and Mark, and his wife Teresa, of Weaverville, a daughter, Gwen Shuford, of Charlotte, a step-son, Terry Joe Cowan, three grandchildren, Christopher Shuford, and his wife Shannon, Andrew Shuford, and Taylor Shuford, one step-granddaughter, Tina Droddy, one great-granddaughter, Morgan Shuford, and one step-great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Droddy.
Mr. Shuford is also survived by two brothers, Gene Shuford, and his wife, Margaret, of Winston-Salem, and Jim Shuford, of Weaverville, and one sister, Laura Lanier, and her husband Joe, of Weaverville.
Mr. Shuford was self-employed as an industrial door service technician. He enjoyed wood-working in his spare time and was a member of Emma’s Grove Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Emma’s Grove Baptist Church with the everend Donnie Chapman officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7:00-9:00 PM at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Emma’s Grove Baptist Building Fund, 417 Emma’s Grove Road, Fletcher, NC, 28732.

We are very sorry to hear about your loss. We are your neighbors on Kimzey Creek Drive that do the gardening. My husband, Jerry always enjoyed Mr. Shuford visiting him as he worked in the garden. Please feel free to ask if we can ever help out. You and your family are in our prayers.
