Anne Cameron Gilreath, of Fairview, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the John F. Keever Jr. Hospice Solace Center. A native of Fairview, she was a daughter of the late Octavia McBrayer Cameron and William Parsley Cameron. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Merrill. Anne attended Berea College in Berea, KY as well as Cecil's Business College in Asheville. She worked as a personnel manager, first for J.L.deBall-Girmes of America for 14 years and then for the Black Mountain Center for 5 years. She went on to serve as a tour director for several local charter bus companies. She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Arnette and her husband, Rick, of Fairview and Melanie Kuykendall and her husband, Rod, of Fairview; one sister, Betty Cameron of Fairview; four grandchildren, Ashley Burril Glenn, Alexandria Arnette, Jake Cawthorn and Josh Kuykendall; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Glenn and Kailyn Glenn, as well as several nieces, cousins and two pre-deceased nephews. A private graveside service will be held at Cane Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Flowers are appreciated, but memorial donations may also be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).

  1. Melanie and family: I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine how badly your hearts break at this moment. God is always by the side of his own. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. Be thankful she is not hurting anymore and hold on to all of those wonderful memories you have. May God touch and keep you close to him.
