Katherine "Kathy" Smith Hudgins

Katherine S. Hudgins Pisgah Forest – Katherine "Kathy" Yevonn Smith Hudgins, 47, of Pisgah Forest, died Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals after an extended illness. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of Charles and Brenda Pearson Smith of Pisgah Forest. In addition to her parents, Katherine is survived by one daughter, Naomi B. Hudgins; two sons, Daniel Jarvis and James C. Hudgins, all of Asheville; one grandson, Liam Maddox Jarvis as well as a very special friend, Maxine Jarvis. A gathering celebrating Kathy's life will be held at a later date. For those who desire, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue (bwar.org) or to the Shriners Children's Hospital (shrinershospitals.org). Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
