Margie Hunt Nixon

Margie Hunt Nixon, 84, of Asheville, died Monday, September 21, 2015, at the John F. Keever Solace Center. A native of Fairmont, NC, she was a daughter of the late Army Hunt and Daisy Chavis Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth Nixon. Mrs. Nixon is survived by her daughter, Fay Freeman; sons, Gerald and Michael Locklear; 3 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
