Jerry Allen Bourne, 61, of Fletcher, earned his Angelic Wings on Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Charles George VA Medical Center.
A native of Key West, FL, he was a son of Lawrence and Betty Glasgow Bourne, of Cuba, MO. Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Allen Bourne, Jr., who died in 2014.
Jerry was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the US Army and had worked in the tourism industry for the past several years.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 15 years, Marcia Newton Bourne; two daughters, Cristina Kegley and her husband, Jason, of Portage, IN and Jamie Bourne of Hendersonville; one step-daughter, Angela Marko of Asheville; three brothers, Lawrence and Kelly Bourne, both of Cuba, MO and Gary Bourne of Warrenton, MO; six grandchildren, Miranda, Alec, Brody, Brady, Avery and Jerome, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Jerry's Life will be held at Greater Works Church, 25 Forsythe Street, Asheville at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 27, 2015 with Pastor Tim Melton officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that you make a donation in Jerry's memory to a charity of your choice.
