Fletcher "Fletch" Davis Ward, 67, of Fletcher, passed away on April 1, 2015 at his residence.
A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Wilton Lee Ward and Margaret Jeanette Stewart Ward.
Fletch was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and retired after 31 years in the maintenance department at the Asheville Airport. He loved nature and made frequent contributions to the North Carolina Nature Conservancy.
He is survived by one brother, Nate Ward and his wife, Susan; one aunt, Maude McNeely as well as numerous cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Fletch's memory to the North Carolina Nature Conservancy, 334 Blackwell Street # 300, Durham, NC 27701.
