Asheville, NC - Helene “Alice” Babraitis, 87, formerly of Leicester, Mass., Holden, Mass. and Zephyr Hills, Florida, died in the Hospice Solace Center in Asheville, NC on October 6, 2002.
She was a graduate of Ascension High School in Worchester, Mass.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Babraitis.
She is survived by a daughter, Rita Babraitis of Asheville and a son and daughter-in-law, Paul Babraitis and Linda Steeves of Plymouth, Mass. and a grandson, James Babraitis of Plymouth. Our mother was a strong and independent woman and was feisty until the end.
A funeral mass will be said at St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Arden, NC on Tuesday, October 8th at 3 pm. Interment will be at a later date in the Notre Dame Cemetery in Worchester, Mass.
The family will receive friends following the mass at 20 Buckingham Court, Asheville, NC.
Deepest sympathy to Helene’s family. She was such a sweet lady and, while at Green Tree, sat at the table during meals with my sister Dorothy Bentley, who died last November 26 at Hospice. Helene was a very lovely lady and we all enjoyed her company as I visited Green Tree very often while my sister was there. Sincerely, Mary Winner
