M. Q. Hutchison

M. Q. Hutchison, 92, of Candler, passed away August 31, 2004, at Pisgah Manor Nursing Home.
A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late J.W. and Emma Hutchison of Leicester and was also preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and an infant son. He was retired from American Enka after 37 1/2 years of service and was a member of Snow Hill United Methodist Church.
Mr. Hutchison is survived by his wife of 72 1/2 years, Ethel Rogers Hutchison; two sons, Bill Hutchison and his wife Cathy of Chattanooga, TN and Alvin Hutchison and his wife Susan of Arden; three grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; ten great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Neil Haynes officiating.

Fondest memories are of MQ ‘driving’ to help us haul up tobacco and all the stories that he shared during those years, and special gatherings at Q and Ethel’s home. An honor to have had the privlege to know him. I shall miss him.
