Karen L. Dockery Hendersonville – Karen Lance Dockery, 62, of Hendersonville, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Elizabeth House. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Howard M. and Roselyn Hallman Lance. She is survived by her son, Clint Phillips and his wife, Shannon, of Zirconia; one brother, Alan Lance of Mills River; four sisters, Darlene Burnett of Hendersonville, Deborah Dockery of Asheville, Suzanne Graham of Arden and Donna Lance of Black Mountain as well as two grandchildren, Jaden and Karah Phillips. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Avery's Creek Christian Church Cemetery with Pastor Shannon Owen officiating. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
