Amy Michelle Hare, 36, of South Asheville, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Elizabeth House. A native of Polk County, she was the daughter of Michael Jeffery Hare and Sherry Lynn Lea and step-daughter of Johnny Lea. She was preceded in death by a grandfather, James Harris. She loved horseback riding, being around people and making everyone around her smile. In addition to her parents, she is survived by one sister, Julie Hare; two brothers, Joshua Hare and his wife Tandi and Matthew Hare and his wife, Krystle; grandparents, Dell and James Hare and Betty Harris, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2014 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Revs. Willard Pruitt, Rick Harris and Jimmy Harris officiating. Interment will follow at New Salem Cemetery and Matthew Hare, Joshua Hare, Tyler Coggins, Ryan Coggins, Randy Harris, Evan Hare, Ricky Harris and Mike Resendez will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a memorial donation in Amy's memory to the Elizabeth House, 581 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731. "Don't worry, be happy".
