Lloyd "Buck" Buckner

On November 1, 2014, in the quietness of a winter snow, Lloyd "Buck" W. Buckner took a final flight to his eternal home to be with a loving Heavenly Father.
A native of Henderson County, Lloyd was born March 3rd, 1934 to the late Baxter D. and Bertha C. Buckner. He was preceded in death by his brother Claude "Doc" Buckner and sister, Eula B. Neely.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1953, married and settled in Arden, NC. He began his career working for NCR in 1954 and retired with the same company in 1994. He was a wonderful husband, loving Dad and a farmer at heart. He was a member of Mud Creek Baptist Church. In addition he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors with Etowah-Horse Shoe Fire Department.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betsy R. Buckner, his daughter, Ronda B. Corn and her husband, Sherman "Randy" Corn, his son, Roger W. Buckner and his wife, Christy G. Buckner, and one grandson, the joy of his earthly life, Garrett W. Buckner. Also survived by one sister, Edith B. Gill of Tryon and a myriad of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Mud Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 538 Tracy Grove Rd, Hendersonville, NC. Prior to the funeral, the family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at the church. Family and friends are invited to the Mud Creek Baptist Church Hospitality Room following the committal service at the cemetery.

Roger and family, I am sorry to hear about your Father. He was always such a great person and a pleasure to see and talk to. I know he will be sorely missed but leaves a lot of fond memories and love.
