Estelle Mae Mentz

Estelle Mae Mentz, 84, of 231 Sardis Road, Asheville, died Monday, September 23, 2002, at her home. Mrs. Mentz was born in Camden, NJ and was a daughter of the late Al J. and Edna Faltenbacher Teschko, and she was the wife of the late Robert Joseph Mentz, Sr. who died in 1981. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Carole A. Turner of Asheville; three step-children, James W. Mentz, Robert J. Mentz, and Dorothy J. Aristone, all of New Jersey; eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday at the Basilica of St. Lawrence by the Rev. Fr. Joseph Dinh. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.
