Mary J. King

Mary J. King, 87, formerly of North Turkey Creek Road, Leicester, died Wednesday, September 18, 2002, at a local nursing home. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mark King. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters. She was a member of Jones Valley Baptist Church. Although she was unable to speak or hear, she lived her life helping others and will be remembered and missed by her nieces and nephews who survive her. Funeral services will be 6:30 pm Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Gillespie officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be 11:00 am Saturday at Jones Valley Baptist Church. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to Leicester Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 100, Leicester, NC 28748.
