Katherine Marie Morrow Sales, 79, of Fairview, died on Friday, June 6, 2014. at Universal Healthcare, Fletcher.
A native of Fairview, Mrs. Sales was a daughter of the late John and Zadie Wilson Morrow. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Minnie Gregory, Annie Hill, Pat Goforth, and Betty Sales; and brothers, Broadus, Thurl, Charles, Howard, and Burgin Morrow.
Mrs. Sales was a graduate of Fairview High School, and then attended business school in Asheville. Her first job was with the Pentagon, in Washington, D.C. She also worked at CP Clare and at Reynolds High School, in Asheville. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, and as a child, had attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Sales will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, and mamaw.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Clark Sales; daughter, Connie Hensley (Steve); sons, Alan Sales (Denise), and Jeff Sales (fianceé, Charlie Gentry); grandchildren, Lesley King, Joseph Hensley (Brittany), Rocky Sales (fianceé, Megan Antle), Brock Sales, Brooke Sales (fiancé, Britt Cline); great-grandchildren, Camden King, Stephen Hensley, Carson Hensley, and Nataleigh Hensley; sisters, Veenie Ledbetter, Martha Lee; and brother, Troy Morrow (Emma Lou).
A funeral service for Mrs. Sales will be on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Revs. Dr. Stephen Hensley, her son-in-law, and Joseph Hensley, her grandson, officiating. Interment will follow in Cane Creek Cemetery. The Senior Ladies Adult Sunday School Class at Fairview Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers for Mrs. Sales.
Her family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
