Julia Louise Lane

Julia Louise King Lane, 72, of Leicester, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Ernest King and Louise Plemmons King Hughey. Mrs. Lane worked for Taylor Instruments for fifteen years, and retired from UNCA. She was a faithful active member of Jones Valley Baptist Church. Mrs. Lane is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Mark D. Lane; daughters Yvonne Little and husband Danny, and Lisa E. Garner and husband Mike; sons Robert D. Lane, and Timothy E. Lane and wife Jeanne; three grandchildren, Ryan Little, Lori Peek, and Laura Rice; seven great-grandchildren; sister Dianne Lunsford; and brothers Tommy King and Gary King and wife Margaret. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Jones Valley Baptist Church, with the Revs. Tom Dorsey, Larry Sprouse, and Danny Little officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave.
