William Francis Praytor, 82, of Leceister, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Mission Hospital. A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late Frank and Mamie Fowler Praytor. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Korea. Mr. Praytor is survived by his wife, Doris Ledbetter Praytor; daughter, Debra Hyatt and husband Johnny, of Leicester; son Ricky Praytor and Kathy Hamilton of Black Mountain; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Revs. Steve Ellis and Chad Elledge officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. The family wishes to express special thanks to the Mission Hospital Pulmonary Unit.
