  1. I am deeply saddened to hear of Steve’s sudden passing. He was immensely helpful to me and all the Educational Outreach team; always ready to help and offering his warm smile and kind words. He will surely be missed.
Dr. Pat Brown, former dean educational outreach

  2. Steve’s death saddened many, however there is a promise from his creator, that he will be resurrected to life right here on earth (Psalm 37:29). God’s original purpose was for mankind to live forever, and that purpose will happen! We all can have that happy future. http://www.jw.org and receive the free book ‘What does the bible really teach’

  3. Jean,Lawrence, and Ellen, My heart was so broken when I heard of Steven’s passing. I am so sorry. I found out Wednesday night at church when I attended cantata practice for Easter. So much enjoyed his company when he visited Center, Ky. My Mom thought a lot of him also. Wish for you peace and comfort.
    Your other family from Center,
    Marsha Jeffries

  5. Steve and I worked together sometimes at Cordelia Camp building while I was with the Graduate school, and often played cards together at the Nexus. He was always so kind and always had something witty or friendly to say. My heart is heavy and my thoughts are with Steve’s family. He will be missed.

  6. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during the passing of Steve. I worked with Steve for several years and never saw him without a smile on his face. Kind words was all he ever spoke of anyone. May God be with you all during this time and days ahead. Heaven has gained another wonderful Angel.

  7. I am deeply saddened to hear of Steve’s death. Steve always had a smile on his face and soft spoken to all he met and worked with. He helped so many of us folks at Western Carolina University….and will be greatly MISSED!! My thoughts and prayers are with Steve’s family for the upcoming days ahead. God bless you all.

  8. My fondest memory of Steve was the time he imitated a cow. He made an anxious moment for me one of the funniest……a master of quick wit and dry humor. I’ll miss his gentle soul, he was a real gem. It was an honor to know you, Steve.

  9. When I taught in the ITV classroom at WCU Steve was so kind, helpful, and funny. He always eased my anxiety with the ITV format and one time he stuck his hand through the wall from the back room, which made my students laugh hysterically. I will truly miss Steve. Eliza Dean

  10. Please knoiw of our love and encouraegment for your family in the loss of our friend Steve. He was a good neighbor, helping out with ‘handy man’ stuff and joining in with happy times of mirth and mercy. Steve lived by a deep faith in the Lord in his own quiet way. Jesus’s ‘in as much as ye did it to one of the least of these, ye did it unto me’ parable in Matthew 25 describes Steve’s faith. The righetous folks were surprised to know they were helping Jesus becuase they gave from the heart. It was their nature. That was Steve; generous, kind, authentic. May God’s rich blessings bring you comfort. Pat and Jack Hinson, former residents of Marion Forest.
