Robert "Bob" Vernon Morton, 78, of Candler, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center.
A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late Vernon and Agnes Cody Morton.
Mr. Morton served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was the co-owner of Biltmore Iron & Metal Co., Inc. After his retirement, he worked for Bob Ledford's RV and Todd's RV.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Davis Morton; daughter, Jaye P. Morton; children by marriage, Scott McJunkin and Donna M. Hyatt and husband Kemmy; granddaughter, Jennifer Searcy; grandchildren by marriage, Andrew McJunkin, Meghann Scott and husband Wade, Janna McJunkin, Katie Hyatt, Kirstie Pressley and husband Coleman, and Karley Hyatt; and great-granddaughter, Maci Pressley.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Danny Gasperson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Jaye, I am so very sorry for your loss. I knew your Dad for decades and he was a great guy. Heaven gained another angel to help the Lord with his work. You are in my thoughts and prayers. If I can do anything please let me know.
