Ruby Harris Cole

Ruby Harris Cole, 98, of Candler, died Monday, February 17, 2014, at Pisgah Valley. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Robert and Gertie Trull Harris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, C.B. Cole, daughter Shirley Cole Blazer and her husband David, one sister, one infant sister, and five brothers. Mrs. Cole retired from American Enka after thirty-one years of service. She is survived by a daughter, Jean Robbins and husband Stan of Candler; a son, Buck Cole and wife Joyce of Alachua, FL; grandchildren Beth Ann Whittenburg of Jacksonville, FL, Janet Durdin of Augusta, GA, Mark Blazer and wife Laura of Mars Hill, and Tammy Reeves and husband Tim of Candler; great-grandchildren Channing Gravitte of Jacksonville, FL, Tyler Parham of Augusta, GA, Carson Reeves of Candler, Megan Blazer of Mars Hill, and Jordyn Blazer of Mars Hill and a sister, Velma Justice and husband Bud. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Danny Gasperson officiating. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.
