Charles Bernard Honeycutt, 78, of 104 Murdock Avenue, Asheville, died Thursday, June 24, 2004, at Emerald Ridge Health Care.
A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Claude F. Honeycutt, Sr. and Dorothy Tipton Honeycutt. He was a US Army veteran of WWII where he received three Bronze Stars and several other medals. He was a retired freight truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Chrisawn Honeycutt; three daughters, Sheila Martin and her husband Paul of Asheville, Charlene Liles and her husband Daniel of Winston-Salem and Sandy Wayne and her husband Tony of High Point; a son, Charles Wayne Honeycutt of Asheville; a sister, Dorothy Robinson of Alexander; a brother, Claude F. Honeycutt, Jr. and his wife Hilda of Candler; five grandchildren, Scott and Gregory Martin, Amy Liles, Jordan and Brannon Honeycutt.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Honeycutt Cemetery in Burnsville.
His family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm Friday at the funeral home and request that memorials be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
