Carolyn Huntley Gray

Carolyn Merrell Huntley Gray, 94, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Carolyn was a daughter of the late Robert and Sally Merrell Huntley and wife of the late Alva Gray, who died in 1998. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Marjorie Drake, Joan Pearson and Joyce Shytle and one brother, Robert Huntley. Carolyn had worked at American Enka for 22 years. She is survived by her sister, Mary Lou Williams of Fairview and one brother, Earl Huntley of Fletcher and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday at Tweed's Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
