It seems I returned to Candler too late to enjoy Velsie’s sweet personality. While we lived away and would return to visit, Velsie was always at Davis Chapel United Methodist Church to welcome us. When my Aunt Greta Smith moved to be near her sons, Velsie was great about writing and keeping the family up to date with the local news. Velsie leaves a sweet memory.
