Virginia Ruth Cousins, 81, of 2386 Smokey Park Highway, Candler, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at Pisgah Manor Nursing Home. A native of Battle Creek, MI, she was a daughter of the late George Thomas and Easter Lily Norton Pritchard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer Cousins, who died in 1970. Survivors include two daughters, Bonita Shipley and her husband Jerry of Candler and Vicki Landon of Michigan; three sons, Ray Cousins and his wife Dawn, Billy Hicks and his wife LeAnn and J.D. Cousins, all of Michigan; two sisters, Sharon Austin and Luwana Doolittle of Michigan; two brothers, Delamo Ensley and his wife Linda of Kissemme, FL and Leroy Blain of Michigan; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Reverend Lee Davis officiating. Her family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

  2. Aunt ginny was always special to me, she always was there when I needed advice and always gave me her honest opinion. She helped me so much with my mother through all these years. She was the Aunt I could ever ask for. I’m so sorry that we got seperated in our lives and did not keep contact. Mother (Luewanna)is doing good and has excepted her loss very well. Aunt Ginny was Mom’s favorite she always looked out for her and was always there for her when she needed her,by either coming and staying with her to see her through her depression or just a phone call. WE ALL LOVE HER AND ARE GOING TO MISS HER TERRIBLY!! LOVE LOWINDA DOOLITTLE (NIECE-DAUGHTER OF LUEWANNA DOOLITTLE)
