Daniel Lee Autrey, 77, of 22 Rangeview Acres, Candler, died Wednesday, August 7, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Autrey was born in Spruce Pine and was a son of the late Josh and China Williams Autrey. He was a retired woodworker and was a member of the Candler Lions Club and the American Association for the Deaf and Blind and the NCDBA. He was also a member of Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Launa Shaffer Autrey; a son, Jan Autrey of Boston, MA, two sisters and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. James H. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Sky View Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 9 pm Friday at the funeral home.
