Marcus Erwin Jamison, Sr., 88, of Candler, died Sunday, May 26, 2013.
A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late William A. and Demie R. Jamison. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Vera Cole Jamison, son, Marcus E. "Mike" Jamison, and siblings Ruby Headrick, Florence Webb, and Willie Jamison.
Mr. Jamison was retired from American Enka/BASF. He was a member of Snow Hill United Methodist Church. He loved his Lord, family, and his farm. A simple man with integrity.
He is survived by daughters Barbara Jamison, Katherine Ferguson, and Donna Walker and husband Oscar; son John William Jamison and wife Janet; grandchildren Travis Elliott, Larry Jones, Heather Jones, Robbie Walters, John William Jamison, II, and Katrina Jamison; and several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to MemoryCare, 100 Far Horizons Lane, Asheville, NC 28803.
