I first met David during a YMCA after school program basketball game in grade school. From there we became good friends though competitors on the court. Later, we both joined and served in the Marine Corps, and afterwards worked together on the Asheville Police Department. David was without question a good decent devoted family man who served his county and the residents of Asheville with honesty, respect and integrity. David leaves us all too soon with a legacy to adhere to and emulate…
We enjoyed being with David whenever we were with him. He always had a smile. Our sympathy on his loss to Amy, Sue, Keith, Caleb and Ethan and to the rest of his family. We will miss him
My prayers are with you all in this time of sorrow, David was a good officer and a good man, we were young officers with ideas to make things better, which he did, now David you will get your reward

I am so sorry to hear of David’s passing. I first met David when I worked downtown at Bright’s Jewelers and he was a beat cop. It is with deep sadness that we send this message to you. David was the first APD officer that we met after we moved to Asheville in 1978. He was a pleasant and kind man and it was a pleasure to know him. Dennis worked with him on the police department for many years and enjoyed his duty time with David. May David rest in peace.
