Patricia Pearl Anderson

Patricia Pearl Anderson, 78, of the Pisgah Estates, Candler, died Saturday, February 16, 2013. Mrs. Anderson was born in Hartford, CT, and was a daughter of the late James Ratcliffe and Elizabeth Whitford Connerton Ratcliffe. Mrs. Anderson was devoted to her family and church and will be remembered as a loving and hardworking wife and mother who assured that her children attended Christian schools. She enjoyed gardening, including fruit, vegetable, and especially flowers with hundreds of Gladiolus blooming annually. She was also active in church wherever she lived, especially with children's activities and Sabbath School. She and her husband helped establish a new Seventh-day Adventist congregation in Rockville, CT. In tribute to her and Mr. Anderson, it can be noted that all of their children remained active in the church, which is testimony to their leadership and training, as they served as models. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard Alfred Anderson; a daughter, Shirley Barnett and her husband, Pastor Edward Barnett; two sons, Richard A. Anderson (Principal of Mt. Pisgah Academy) and his wife, Elizabeth, and Pastor Ronald Anderson and his wife, Lori; seven grandchildren, Andrew Barnett and his wife, Lauren, Ryan Barnett and his wife, Kay, Richard Anderson, Jr., and his wife, Andrea, Kenneth Anderson and his fiancee, Katie, Rebecca Anderson, Erin Anderson and Eric Anderson; and a brother, William Ratcliffe and his wife, Sandy. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Pisgah Academy Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Michael Brackett officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Pisgah Academy Worthy Student Fund, 75 Academy Dr., Candler, NC 28715. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
