Ragle Odell Stinson, 71, of Star Rd., Marshall, died Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late John and Marjorie Crisp Stinson. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Evans.
Mr. Stinson was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Cuban Crisis. He was retired from the street department of the City of Asheville.
Mr. Stinson is survived by his wife, Gardy Wright Stinson; a daughter, Susan Jones of Swannanoa; grandchildren Cheryl Lynn Buchanan, Daniel Buchanan and wife Amber, Nathanael Lee Jones, and Constance Marie Evans; and a sister, Louise Bartlett of Weaverville.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Redmon Missionary Baptist Church, with the Revs. Wesley Pike and John Alexander officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

Susie, Susan, We all loved Ragle very much,but we know he is happy now and he is with Jesus. We will miss him, but we can know we will be with him again. We have good memories we can cherish. Gardy, you may not remember me – I was the Benefits Mgr for yrs at the City & met with you and Ragle several times-I did his retirement papers. He was one of my favorite employees. It was obvious how much you loved each other. I am so sorry for your loss.
