Mary C. Brown, 94, of Redwood Rd., Asheville, died on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Aston Park Health Care Center. A native of Swain Co., Mrs. Brown was a daughter of the late Frank Collins and Annie Green Greene. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Brown, four brothers, and one sister. Mrs. Brown worked as a home health supportive aid for C.J. Harris Hospital. Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughter, Annie Orr and husband Steve; son, Denny Green and wife Brenda; grandchildren, Heather Orr Frost and husband Dustin, John Franklin Orr, Jody Rennoldson, Denny Green, Jr., Joe Cupp and wife Ashley, and Jonathan Cupp; great-grandchildren, Christy Bohannon and husband Kevin, Michael Carroll and wife Sandra, Breanna Macon Frost, and Evelyn Cupp; great-great grandchildren, Destinee Carroll, Dylan Bohannon, and Trinity Bohannon; step-sons, David Roy Brown and James Brown; brother, Avery Green; and sisters-in law, Alice Brown of Chester, SC, and Mary Green of Swannanoa. A funeral service for Mrs. Brown will be on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Wilmot Baptist Church, in Whittier, NC, with Pastor Johnny Ray Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Bumgarner Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday, and also will be at the home of Denny and Brenda Green, 19 Stephanie Lane, Haw Creek, Friday evening, 6:00 p.m. until. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
